Terrapin Hospitality was born out of necessity. Our founder, Tony Sherman, first started buying hotels after 9/11 and hired management companies because the brands and lenders required it. But after the first management company he hired had failed even to create a brochure or place print ads (before the Internet was so important), he had no choice but to fire them after three months and take over himself. He significantly increased revenue during the next two years and sold the property for 50% more. His second hotel was a branded property, and the brand required him to hire an ‘approved’ management company. After 12 months of lackluster performance and failing scores, Tony formed Terrapin Management Corp. and was approved to manage his own property. Pretty soon, that property scored in the top 10% percent in the system.
Since then, Terrapin has grown and we have owned and operated over 30 hotels throughout the country. We have built a team of experienced hotel professionals to manage our properties and those of our partners and clients. We now own or manage over 80 hotels in 25 states and want to put our passion and experience to work for you.
